Angel Aquino is a Brave Soul
Let’s admit it.
Being an outspoken ally of the LGBTQs especially here in our country is not very popular. You would be called names, deal with demeaning commentaries and even receive threats for speaking out for the lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders, and queers. Being a proactive ally can even tank a career.
It’s not surprising that many are choosing to keep mum when it comes to talks about equality.
But not Angel Aquino.
In spite of the unpopularity and in spite of the social costs that she might incur, Angel Aquino bravely and outspokenly declared her support for equality.
Here’s what she said:
“Respect for every human being. It’s all about individual rights and freedom. At the end of the day, we’re all spirits finding our own space in the sun.” – Angel Aquino.
Angel Aquino's voice and beautiful words sparked a hope in our hearts. That someday, fear will lose its grip and allies will start speaking up.
We hope that Angel inspires more people to become better allies.
