RAPE IS NOT A JOKE
AND NO ONE DESERVES IT. No LGBTQ, no woman, no man deserves to be raped.
We saw this tweet while browsing at the other tweets of the #TRMDRevenge twitter party. (For those who are not aware, TRMD (The Rich Man's Daughter) is a nightly show that focuses on the love story of lesbians and the struggles of the LGBTQ, set in the Philippine context.
This Twitter user thinks rape is a laughable and a justifiable thing to do.
TRANSLATION: Serves her right. Jade will be gang raped. She'll get a taste of heaven.
(Jade is one of the main lesbian characters in this series.)
While I understand that there would be "trolls" or haters, I do not understand how one can think that someone deserves to be raped and even uses her faith to justify this. I am writing to call attention to this way of thinking. This is wrong and damaging. We cannot just sit around and let this kind of thinking spread.
