The EVIL "Gay Lifestyle"
What's a "gay lifestyle" like? I have been pondering on what the term "gay lifestyle" means since many people are not happy with the way we, the lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders, queers, and intersex, live.
Some even go as far as calling the "gay lifestyle" evil and claiming that we are spelling the end of the world with the way we live our lives.
So I really got curious. What is so evil with how we spend our waking and sleeping hours that can cause catastrophic events?
My So-Called EVIL "Gay Lifestyle"
So I made a note of how I spend my days from morning to night to find out just how evil I live my everyday life.
Nothing Wakes Me Up Like Coffee Does
Before the sun paints the sky streaks of bright gold, I am already tinkering in the kitchen. I quietly move around while I make my cup of coffee (usually cold) to not wake my still sleeping girlfriend, Michee, and our adorable puppy, Percy. I spend a few quiet minutes with my cup of coffee, with each sip forcing sleepiness out of my system.
Quiet Mornings and Morning Walks
Halfway through my cup I open my computer and start working. Quiet moments in the early morning are golden for writers like myself (or maybe that only works for me) so I start work early on. At 6:15 am I start preparing our dog's breakfast and let her eat then I go back to my computer and start working again. At 6:30 Michee wakes up, does her morning rituals and at around 7:15, we head out to walk our dog. We go back home an hour later to eat breakfast, chat, and just enjoy each other's company. And somewhere in between, squeeze in a relaxing warm shower.
Mondays, Game of Thrones, & Work
On Mondays, I try to catch Game of Thrones on HBO at 9 am (You know nothing Jon Snow...wait is he really dead? All these Jon Snow ressurection theories is messing up with my head). Then I go back to work with a few minutes in between of checking in on social media and just reading articles that have caught my attention while Michee starts preparing for work as well.
Puppy Time and Chores
At 10:30 am (for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) Michee gives our furry bundle of energy, Percy, a bath while I start preparing the ingredients for what I will cook for lunch. After Percy's bath, we spend about 20 minutes playing with her while Spotify is blasting Percy's playtime playlist with songs ranging from Swagger Jagger by Cher Lloyd, to Fight for this Love by Cheryl Cole, Don't Stop Me Now by Queen to A Little Respect by Erasure. After our puppy playtime, I start cooking lunch while Michee starts tidying up the house. I hate cleaning and luckily that's Michee's favorite chore to do. Then we eat lunch. For Tuesdays and Thursdays the routine is much the same but instead of giving Percy a bath, we brush Percy's teeth - yes, this one is a tandem work.
Afternoons and Law & Order
We start working again after lunch time. Most of the time, I would have the TV on and wait for back to back to back episodes of Law and Order (I love Jack McCoy and Lennie Briscoe). At around 6:30 pm, Michee prepares Percy's dinner make her eat and at 7: 15 pm we take Percy out for another 1- hour walk.
Night Time, More Work, Then Sleep
After getting home, I start preparing dinner, eat, enjoy a few moments with Michee and Percy then back to writing again. At around 10:30 pm, I am already sleepy and Percy would be begging me to go to bed. Percy doesn't like sleeping alone and yes, she sleeps on our bed. So I turn my computer off, kiss Michee good night and get some much needed hours of sleep.
It's the Freaking Weekend!!!
On weekends, we eat out mostly, go to the movies if there's a good one showing, go out on dates, meet up with friends or go to the park with our dog and just relax or sleep in.
How My EVIL "Gay Lifestyle" Looks Like In Snippets
So from what I gathered this is how my "gay lifestyle" looks like. How evil of me to live my life this way and consciously bring on catastrophic events. Better run for your dear lives.
My morning starts with a much needed cup of coffee.
I take care of my dog and just love and adore her.
I spend most hours of my weekdays working.
I love whipping up dishes but hate cleaning.
I love spending time with my girlfriend.
I love warm showers.
Just like most people, I spend time on social media and read interesting stuff on the internet.
I'm obsessed with Game of Thrones and Law & Order.
I love eating out.
I get excited about Fridays.
I love going out on dates with my girlfriend and get thrilled meeting up with friends.
I like having a relaxing weekend and just sleep in.
Not So Different After All
It turns out we are not so different after all. The straight lifestyle looks very similar to the gay lifestyle. It's a mix of routines, exciting and boring stuff filled with quiet, fun, silly, AHA and trivial moments sprinkled with some other "not even close to evil" things in between. How my lifestyle can cause catastrophic events is beyond me.
P.S. I really do try to live my life with kindness and a lot of LOVE. I may still be working on the kindness part as I do have my bad moods but I consciously try to be more patient, kinder and understanding.
